Music and Arts Ministry
Through weekly rehearsals, worship services, concerts, art shows, and drama productions, the music and arts ministry seeks to glorify God by using the creative gifts that He has given to our church family. From preschool children through adults, there are opportunities to use music and other creative outlets to worship God and reflect Him as our Creator. Some highlights of our church calendar are our summer church-family choir (ages 9-99) and our annual Christmas concert.
Music and Arts Opportunities
Children in the 4- and 5-year-old class spend time singing, using rhythm instruments, and praising God through music. This class meets on Wednesday nights at 6:15 p.m. in Room 103. This group takes a break from Wednesday night classes during the summer.
Kids in 1st grade through 5th grade meet on Wednesdays from 6:15-6:50 p.m. in the Children’s Choir Room in the Worship & Arts Suite. The children learn basic rhythms and musical terms, learn how to follow music, discuss and learn our hymns of the month, and prepare songs to sing in worship services.
Youth Praise Team
The Youth Praise Team spends an hour on Sunday evenings rehearsing and learning
new songs in preparation for providing the music for youth group on Wednesday
evenings. We also play from time to time in Sunday Morning Worship. If you are
interested in this, please contact Rebecca Marchman.
The SAPC youth choir consists of youth (6th–12th graders) who join in singing
together and serving our church family. This group rehearses weekly on
Sundays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Choir Room (Room 220).
