Elisabeth’s parents taught her to love God from an early age, and through her family’s many moves during her childhood, Elisabeth came to see that her life was under the Lord’s direction. After completing her master’s in secondary education, Elisabeth taught high school English in a rural public school in North Carolina. During that time she sensed God calling her to overseas ministry.
After serving short-term in Sofia, Bulgaria, God confirmed Elisabeth’s calling as a missionary. She serves with MTW Bulgaria’s church-planting team. This team is committed to showing the love of Christ to make known the hope of Christ through community outreach and discipleship. Elisabeth teaches with the team’s English language ministry in order to develop friendships and share the hope of Christ. In addition to teaching English, Elisabeth supports the work of the church plant through discipleship, and tutors women who have been rescued from prostitution and trafficking.
God has been working in amazing ways! As the church plant in Sofia grows, please pray for Elisabeth as she shares Jesus’ love and reaches out to her Bulgarian friends who are meeting Jesus.
Ways To Pray
From August 1, 2021
New Life Church Praise God for bringing our church a pastoral intern who will be serving with us for the next two years. Boris has been very active in our church and has a huge heart. Pray for Trevin as he mentors and disciples Boris and for our church as we see God continuing to grow us in love and a desire to share the good news with people around us.
English Club We need God’s wisdom! English Clubs has been a phenomenal ministry and is constantly being tweaked and fiddled with as we see new needs and challenges. One need and challenge that has become more apparent, especially this summer, is the growing demographic of internationals who have started attending–people from all over Europe, Asia, & the Middle East are the current attendees, but we’ve also had people from African countries, as well as native English speakers looking for friends in in Sofia. We desire to see new believers who are able to join our church (which is Bulgarian), so while we love having these international friends, we’re wondering how to care for them, if God opens their eyes to His mercy and grace.
The Well Please pray for our interns as they return to normal life. Several of them are going back to university, while others are in a time of transition. Please pray that the things they learned this summer will be a source of comfort and challenge in their continuing walk with Jesus.
Team Life We’re headed to team retreat next week! I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with the team, as we had much less of this type of time together over the summer. Pray for us as we reflect on the past year and plan for the coming one. Continue to remember the Webbs as they hope to join us on the field soon.
My Family My parents are hoping to travel here in September for a visit! Please pray that these plans to see fulfillment and for us to have open hands as we anticipate seeing each other! Pray for my mom as she continues to experience pain related to her auto-immune diseases. Please continue to pray for my brother, Paul, as he prepares for ordination and for his spring 2022 departure for Romania!
Me August is usually our month to catch our breath and recharge. I’m thankful to get to spend a week with my team and to host dear friends and former teammates, Aubrie and Elisabeth during the last half of the month (which will include a vacation to the Black Sea!). Pray that as I seek physical rest, I will find that I’m able to give my worries and anxieties to God more and more fully so that I can find my true rest in Him.
